       Made by Disney in 1937 for Disney & R.K.O. Productions. It was the first feature-length animated film. Produced in color, the film was made with the help of a fleet of animators and artists. The film was a big success and opened gates for a feature-length cartoon film productions.       

               

   

Casablanca:          

     

          

          Produced by Hal Wallis and directed by Michael Curtiz, CASABLANCA was made in 1942 for the Warners, Screenplay was written by the Epstein brothers. – Julius J. & Philip G. Epstein and Howard Koch from the play ‘Everybody comes to Rick’s’ by Murry Burnett and Joan Alison. The film had a love triangle played by all time great performers – Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman & Paul Henreid. Claude Rains and Conrad Veidt supported them. 

           

   

 

          CASABLANCA was an instant success on the box-office and also received Oscars for Best Picture, Director & Screenplay. Humphry Bogart and Claude Rains received nominations. CASABLANCA has secured its place amidst all time classics of the world cinema.

   

For Whom The Bell Tolls:          

     

      

 

 

 

 

          Produced & Directed by Sam Wood for....  

          .. Paramount in 1943 screenplay was written by  Dudley Nicholas.

       The film was based upon the best-selling novel ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’ by Ernest Hemingway. The story had the back drop of the Spanish Civil War. The lead roles were played by Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman. 

        

   

       It is a story of and American fighting in spain as a member of the International Brigade on the Loyalist side. He is sent on a mission to blow up a strategically placed bridge where he joins a band of peasant guerillas. Maria, a young girl raped by the Fascists, has sought refuge with the guerilla band. The American (Gary Cooper) and Maria (Ingrid Bergman) indulge into a brief affair.            

        B.G. Desylva was the Executive Producer of the film. Rest of the star cast were – Akim Tamiroff, Katina Paxinon, Joseph Calleia, Vladmir Sokoloff, Arturo de Cordova, Mikhail Rasumny, Eduardo Cianelli, Fortunio Boanova, Duncan Renaldo & George Coulouris.  

       Katina Paxinou won an Oscar for her supporting role. The film itself Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergaman were nominated for Oscar in their respective categories.
